A portfolio is a set of pictures, that helps sells you when you are looking for assignments in the fashion & advertising industry. Aim to project the best possible image of yourself. Always bear in mind that the purpose of a model portfolio is not only to show your good looks, but it should also demonstrate your ability to portray different characters and personalities.

Fashion photography is a genre of photography that is devoted to displaying clothing and other fashion items. Fashion photography is most often conducted for advertisements or fashion magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, or Elle.

Pre-wedding photography allows both partners to get to know each other better. You are free to pose or not to pose. Pre-wedding shoot photographers are intent on capturing natural moments, expressions, and real emotions shared by the couple. Such pictures make your album more vibrant.

A maternity portfolio shoots for an expectant couple. This is a good way to announce the arrival of your baby! There truly is a certain glow that only pregnant women possess — almost like an aura of wisdom and serenity.

It is the only area of photography where the photographer is solely responsible. They need to have the well being of the subject as the main priority. Safety is key. The great thing is, you will have parents who can act as your assistants, holding and posing the baby.

Event/Party photography is the practice of photographing guests and occurrences at any Event or occasion. This is a coverage that is used around the world on occasions such as weddings, christenings, naming ceremonies, parties, birthdays, formals, dances, ceremonies, award ceremonies, engagements, etc.

Food photography is a still life photography genre used to create attractive still life photographs of food. It is a specialization of commercial photography, the products of which are used in advertisements, magazines, packaging, menus, or cookbooks.

Street photography, also sometimes called candid photography, is photography conducted for art or inquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents within public places.

Theme/Festival

A photo theme simply means creating a set of photographs that are related in some way, whether it be through the subject, color, or other reoccurring patterns.  The beauty of doing this is that you are not required to constantly come up with a new subject or idea for each consecutive photo; once a theme’s subject has been established, you only need to find new instances of that subject.  This forces you to think along one idea path and allows you to forget about the subject altogether and concentrate on what’s really important…taking an interesting and thought-provoking photo.
